Authorised Persons for Certification

The person must write on every page of the document, ‘I have sighted the original document and certify this to be a true copy of the original.’ The person should then sign each statement and provide their designation, for example, ‘Pharmacist’.

People authorised to certify the documents are:

_ Medical practitioner
_ Nurse
_ Pharmacist
_ Physiotherapist
_ Psychologist
_ Veterinary surgeon
_ Agent of the Australian Postal Corporation who is in charge of an office supply postal services to the public
_ Bank officer with 5 or more continuous year of service
_ Building society officer with 5 or more years of continuous service
_ Chief executive officer of a Commonwealth court
_ Civil marriage celebrant
_ Clerk of the Court
_ Commissioner for Affidavits
_ Commissioner for Declarations
_ Credit union officer with 5 or more years of continuous service
_ Fellow of the National Tax Accountants Association
_ Finance company officer with 5 or more year of continuous service
_ Judge of a court
_ Justice of the Peace
_ Magistrate
_ Member of the Association of Taxation and Management Accounts
_ Member of the Australian Defence Force who is an officer
_ Certified Practising Accountants
_ Member of the Institute of Corporate Managers, Secretaries and Administrators
_ Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia
_ Minister of religion registered under Division 1 of Part IV of the Marriage Act 1961
_ Notary public
_ Permanent employee of;
the Commonwealth or of a Commonwealth authority; or
a State or Territory or of a State or Territory authority; or
a local government authority;
_ Sheriff
