HSHS System

The Honda Smart Home System (HSHS) features a line-up of innovative energy production, management and conservation solutions, aimed at promoting a lifestyle of convenience and self-sufficiency for the modern-day environmentally-conscious home owner.

Included in the home are solar panels, a gas engine-driven cogeneration unit and water-heating system and a rechargable home battery. An energy control device called the Smart e Mix Manager obtains operation data from these devices, analyses household energy use and from here makes decisions to optimise efficiency.

Homeowners can also choose to remotely operate the data from an in-home display, a vehicle-navigation system, or a smartphone.  In tandem with the home battery unit, the Smart e Mix Manager can also supply emergency electricity in the event of blackouts or disasters such as earthquakes.
