Leading Western Australian designer, Dane Richardson, chooses intelligent lighting as the most preferred home automation feature of his family home. His three-year-old house is now on the market and is turning heads with its bold cedar planking box design.
Clipsal CBus
A Clipsal CBus home automation system is used to control the home's electronic blinds, audio and lighting. A touch screen located in the kitchen serves as the central control, giving the family access to blinds, audio and lighting through a single user-friendly screen.
Dynamic Labelling Technology (DLT) switches are used in the secondary control points such as the bedrooms, living and kids play area, providing similar functionality to the kitchen touch screen.
"The touch screen and DLTs are great because each function is given a name and it is all very clear and simple. There is no point in installing home automation if you have to stand there for 10 minutes working out what you are meant to be doing - reading codes and pressing buttons. Having clear simple names on the switches and screen means there is no confusion about what to press," says Mr Richardson.
