House of the Month
14 North St, Dunsborough, WA
Leading Western Australian designer, Dane Richardson, chooses intelligent lighting as the most preferred home automation feature of his family home. His three-year-old house is now on the market and is turning heads with its bold cedar planking box design.
Electronic blinds
Smart wired roller blinds shade the north-westerly outlook through walls of glass behind open sections of the cedar-planked exterior. The main bedroom, master bedroom and home office each have electronic blinds, which can be controlled through the DLTs or the kitchen touch screen.
"We have set scenes like 'all down' and 'all up' or 'half way', which means we can activate all the blinds at a touch of a button rather than having to move them individually", says Mr Richardson. "Of course we can also control each blind separately as well if need be."
Smoked glass panes at the front provide privacy for the alfresco deck , entered through wide sliding doors, and a smaller deck to the main suite gets the pick of ocean views over trees and rooftops.
