The home theatre is wired for 6.1 surround sound, with speakers and an amplifier in the theatre room, outdoors and the built-in angled bar in the adjacent living area.

Music is streamed off their iPhone to the speakers and an iPhone adaptor allows the family to control the music from the server. "To access music, we just have to log on to any of the computers, select a song and play it through the system," says Kevin.

"If I wanted music in the rest of the home it is just a matter of adding some additional speakers that are wired back to the server.

"The new home owners can also install touch screens for controlling the music system - the cabling is there, we just haven't done it."
