Exterior of smart wired home
Few would ever guess that in the main bedroom that houses an ensuite with spa bath there is a walk-in robe that doubles as a computer room, with dual servers and UPS power (uninterruptable power supply). This is where all the data comes in - phone lines, Foxtel and the TV - to be distributed around the home.
There are three Foxtel points in the house - in the theatre room, bar area and upstairs living - that are wired back to an incoming data box in the server. There are another five TV points - one in each of the bedrooms. The family can load all the DVDs they want onto the server and call them up at each of the TV points - enabling kids and parents to watch a DVD/Foxtel channel of their choosing, all at the same time!
