Smart Wired home dining area
In place of light switches, the home has a CBus system, with Dynamic Labeling Technology (DLT) in each room to control lighting throughout the house.
A full-colour touch screen located in the kitchen controls the lights for every room in the house, displaying five different pages of lighting functions.
The DLTs in each room can control up to 12 scenes, such as a 'party' theme, which sees the house illuminated with feature lights, or 'movie' which dims lights in the living area just as it would in a cinema.
In the spacious alfresco area, with 12-seater spa and built-in barbeque, lighting scenes provide an attractive way of lighting up the area quickly and conveniently at the touch of a button.
"In our bedroom we have a 'kids' button if we need to get to the kids quickly - the passage lights up and their room lights come on", says Jason Springate.
"The kids can also operate the lights - they have a DLT switch in their bedroom so they can turn the bathroom light on from there if they need to go to the toilet at night. The switches light up at night so they can see what they are pressing.
"There is also a 'distress' button to illuminate the whole house in the event of an emergency.
"We have had intelligent lighting in our houses for the past three years and I like the flexibility of it - that you can control the whole house by touch screen - it is convenient and easy to operate."
