House of the Month
Calypso Bay, Queensland
With both parents working full-time as pilots, two young children to look after, and a home located an hour?s return drive from the nearest shopping centre, this family was in need of a smart wired home that would integrate technology into everyday living.
Control system
For simple control of all electronics, a Rti K4 in-wall touch screen was used. All functions on the Dynalite lighting control system were programmed into the touch screen for ease of use. Intercom and CCTV cameras can also be viewed from here, as well as access control for the front door. Other controlling features include airconditioning and audio visual systems. Internet access also features, with preset pages loading up the client's favourite screens, such as traffic cams and weather reports for boating.
Home owner, Mat Henry describes how the electronic system has benefited his lifestyle.
"It has given an amazing level of ease to the comfort of living. Whether changing a movie at the press of a button so we don't have to go upstairs and find a scratched DVD in the bottom of a toy box or seeing who is at the front door on the TV before answering the door - life for us has well and truly entered the digital age.
"The system and the ease with which we can control it not only enables us to enjoy our free time, but it creates the free time so desperately needed in our busy lives."
