Utilising the Telstra Smart Community website for registration
On the website there are two options for registering your development project: The Intent to Develop (ITD) and the Application for Reticulation (AFR). Both of these forms can be found on The Developer page of the website.
Intent to Develop
The Intent to Develop (ITD) form is used if your development project has multiple stages or if you wish to provide Telstra with advance notice of your development project. This can be completed once for each development and updated if details for that development change.
Completing an Intent to Develop will enable you to engage one of Telstra's Community Development Consultants located in the regional area of your development project. This consultant will work with you on all aspects of your telecommunication needs with you, assisting you to identify key telecommunication needs, important local features, to assist in ensuring that your development is considered in meeting the growing expectations of the local community and where possible ?future proofing? against future technological advancements. By engaging a local Telstra Smart Community consultant you have the technical expertise combined with local knowledge, making it easier to deliver maximised benefits to your development project.
To assist in your development being reticulated (provision of conduits, pits and cable in the developer provided trench) in the desired time frame, you will also need to complete the form for an Application for Reticulation, for each stage of your development closer to the expected commencement date of each stage of your development.

Application for Reticulation
The Application for Reticulation (AFR) form is used if you have a single staged development project or your multi stage development project is commencing a new stage.
The Application for Reticulation needs to be submitted for your single stage development project or for each stage of your multi stage development at least three months prior to the commencement of any subdivision road works or building civil works associated with the development. This assists us to deliver the telecommunications infrastructure for your development when you require it.
