Kitchen cabinets that open on command give new meaning to the term 'working kitchen'. With
the launch of a line of 'intelligent' kitchen cabinets by US cabinet maker, Anvil Cabinet and Mill, your kitchen can now link up to your whole-house automation system.

Using motion sensors and computer automation, the cabinet doors open and shut based on a wave of your hand or the press of a touchscreen. They can be programmed to open in unison or individually through pre-programmed scenes, such as the 'baking scene', which opens cabinets that house ovens, baking implements and ingredients.

Unlike cabinets that have always opened with a hinged, swinging motion, Anvil Motion cabinet technology allows the doors to rise and fall vertically, concealing or revealing contents.

The system includes an option for biometric security to control access to prescriptions, sharp objects and valuables with fingerprint recognition software. Other features include the ability to program cabinets to close as you exit the kitchen, and drawers that respond to touch by gliding in and out of the cabinet box with intelligent memory that senses the need to close multiple drawers and reverses opening order.

Integrate Anvil Motion with your home's lighting control, HVAC, security and media systems to ensure your working kitchen becomes the brains of the house.
